The following is a list that we find useful for gathering the stuff together that we need for a self catering Skiing holiday, a little over detailed for most people but feel free to copy and amend at your leisure.

Weigh the Kids - you will be asked when hiring Ski Equipment.

Underwear
Socks
Jumpers/Fleece/Hoody?
Jeans/Trousers
T-Shirts
Lightweight Dressing Gown - For nightime modesty in the 'cozy' sleeping arrangements of many shared apartments.
Trunks / Swimming Costume - Yes you can even swim outdoors in many resorts!
Shoes
Snow Boots - With a good sole to prevent falls on ice patches in your resort.

SKI WEAR

Ski Helmet
Ski Pants
Ski Jacket - Travel in it to save weight.
Base Layers
Fleeces
Ski Socks
Goggles
Sunglasses
Rucksack - For picnics or shopping.

SUNDRIES

Towels
Toiletries
Hair Dryer - If you must, my wife insists!
Plasters - for injury or blisters
Calpol - If you have kids.
Paracetemol - Just in case!
TCP or Antiseptic Cream
Sun Tan Lotion or moisturiser with high SPF - Essential.
Sun Block - If you get burned you will need it and is expensive in resorts.
Lip Balm
Hand Cleanser

Mobile Phones - Check your tariff for abroad or buy another chip just for holiday use.
Phone Charger

DVD Player & DVDs - Keep you and the Kids entertained in the evenings.
MP3 Player & Speakers
Batteries
Headphones
Books/Kindle
Adapters 110v X 2
Camera
Alarm Clock
Torch & Candles - Sometimes mountain resorts get power cuts.

Clothes Wash - For washing out base layers.

FOR MAKING SELF CATERING CHEAPER - BE PREPARED


Tea Bags
Salt, Pepper, Oxo, Oil, Sauces, Spices, Garlic - Collect sachets from cafes to take, only small and will save you buying in resort.
Sosmix & Soyamince ( for vegetarians )
Pates in tubes - Useful for cheap lunches augmented with local Cheese and baguettes.
Shopping Bags
Bin Bags
Small bottle of Washing up liquid
Cleaning materials
Travel Kettle - Useful as there is usually only a coffee maker provided in apartments.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Computer Backed Up
Bins Emptied
Fridge Emptied
Enough food for the Cat/Dog/or exotic pet - make sure the kind person who is looking after your pet whilst you are off having fun doesn't run out!
